Winterhawks Season Ends in Tillsonburg
The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks scored early, but not often enough to avoid elimination at the hands of the Tillsonburg Thunder.

The Winterhawks dropped a 4-2 decision in Game 6 of their WOAA Sr. "AA" quarterfinal series, losing the series by the same margin.

It started off promising for Saugeen Shores, scoring just over two minutes into the game on a goal by James McHaig, assisted by Jay Thomson and Adam Kading.

The Winterhawks continued to control the play for the rest of the 1st period, but could not get another puck past Tillsonburg netminder Tommy Lee.

Tillsonburg got it back on the power play with just over six minutes to play in the opening frame, tying the game at 1-1.

The Thunder came out hard and were tough to play against in the 2nd period, pushing the Winterhawks on their heels.

Jeff Flagler, who played the entire series with an injury, continued to gut it out in the Winterhawks net, stopping a barrage of shots from the Thunder.

Tillsonburg picked up a power play late in the 2nd period and converted with six seconds remaining to take the lead heading to the 3rd period.

The chances were not easy to come by in the 3rd period as Tillsonburg continued to hold the Winterhawks at bay.

A power play midway through the period did not result in a tying goal, and Tillsonburg delivered the dagger at 14:25 of the 3rd to make it 3-1.

Tillsonburg added an empty netter before Kading finished off the scoring with a minute left to arrive at 4-2 final.
