Summer 2020 Update
As part of our efforts to keep you informed, the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks have the following summer 2020 update to pass along.

The COVID-19 pandemic is the number one priority of all teams in the WOAA Sr. Hockey League.

Representatives from each team recently held a virtual meeting as part of efforts to ensure the 2020/21 season can get underway as soon as possible.

However, we are not optimistic we can start the season on time, due to the restrictions in place by the Province of Ontario.

Currently, we are aiming to be ready to play within 4-6 weeks of receiving clearance from the province and Public Health authorities.

The restrictions in place with "Phase 3" do not allow for organized indoor sporting events such as our league, but we are hopeful to be on the ice by December 1st. That is not a deadline, but rather a soft target for planning purposes.

As a league, we will not jeopardize the health and safety of our players, volunteers or fans. Updates will be made available as soon as possible.

Internally, the search for a new head coach remains our top priority. We have identified and held discussions with candidates and hope to have an announcement in the  near future.
