It was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks.
The Winterhawks went off for nine goals and snapped a four-game losing streak with a 9-3 win over the visiting Lucknow Lancers at the Southampton Coliseum on Friday night.

It was evident yet again why the Winterhawks have continued the tradition of visiting the Coliseum each season, as the stands were full for the Winterhawks regular season home finale.
The Winterhawks jumped out early on a power play goal at 5:02 when Miles MacLean tipped in Josh Urbshott's point shot, with Mike Fiegehen picking up an assist it what would turn out to be a big night for him.
Fiegehen added to the lead at 14:10 from Logan Freiburger and Chad Jones, and the Winterhawks held a 2-0 lead over Lucknow after one.
Fiegehen put the game away early in the second, first with a beautiful backhand goal at 1:48 from Mike Johnstone and goaltender Tyler Jackman, who was making his debut in the Winterhawks net.
Fiegehen wasted no time putting the hat-trick on the board, scoring his third of the game just 42-seconds later from Ethan Froats and Keegan Angel.
Trevor Donaldson added the third goal of the period for the Winterhawks from Brent MacDermid and Jones, and the rout was on, the Winterhawks leading 5-0 after two.
Rob Flick added to the lead with a power play goal, beating the Lucknow goaltender with a laser beam shot from MacDermid and Urbshott at 4:37, then Angel scored from the point from Freiburger and it was 7-0 Winterhawks at 6:02 of the third.

With the score out of hand, the game got chippy and Lucknow picked up extended power play time, which they used to spoil Jackman's shutout bid in his debut, scoring twice in short succession to cut the Winterhawks lead to 7-2.
Clayton Fitzsimmons and Justin Marlowe returned the favour, followed by one more late goal from the Lancers to arrive at a 9-3 final for Saugeen Shores.
Fiegehen was named The Wismer House Player of the Game with three goals and one assist, while Jackman made 24-saves to pick up his first win as a Winterhawk.
With their home schedule complete, the Winterhawks will head out on the road next weekend for a possible first-round playoff preview, when they travel to Palmerston to face the Minto 81's on Sunday January 18, at 1:00 p.m.
